Having been a high school teacher, becoming an ISR instructor was a natural calling for a retirement job. I’ve been Certified for 13 years. I’m also an ISR grandma! I found out about ISR from my daughter, who was an ISR Master Instructor (she trains other instructors to teach) in the Allen area! I have had first hand experience taking a child to lessons, as I took my first granddaughter to lessons with her mom. That was before I became an ISR instructor. Seven of my grandchildren are ISR skilled. Four I have personally skilled myself. Before I became an instructor, I was a high school technology teacher for 20 years. I was looking for something to do after I retired from teaching and my daughter suggested I become an instructor and the rest is history. I have a background in teaching regular swim lessons, lifeguarding and have always loved swimming and water activities, so water safety has always been important to me.
Through my rigorous ISR Instructor certification, I was trained and tested in the areas of child psychology, physiology, anatomy, behavioral science, various medical conditions and early childhood development principles to provide the safest lessons possible for your child. I’m also First Aid/CPR AED certified.
Drownings do not discriminate. They happen to good families and very loving parents. All bodies of water can be dangerous and deadly to children. ISR lessons give children the tools they need to save themselves.
